Timing the Brisbane Olympic Windfalls.. will it inflate gains in the next land cycle?

When Brisbane was announced as host city for the 2032 Olympic Games and Paralympics (albeit in a one-horse race), it created a wave of excitement among property spruikers.

 

The date falls bang around the start of the next land cycle (from a bottom of around 2028–2046.)

A lot of spending and infrastructure investment …and speculators already jumping in expecting it to feed directly into land price gains for a few years yet!

 

However, before you rush in, does history support the case?
